Rats! Before and After
The first weekend after we closed on the house, we were so excited to swim in our very own pool. We decided to check out the waterfall. As soon as we turned it on, out ran a family of about 6 rats. (Eeeww! Can you see me shivering just writing the story?!)
It turns out that the yard was so overgrown, that it allowed an infestation of rats. We would be walking in the grass in the middle of the 100 degree day and you would see them scurrying in the bushes. Not just one or two...like monkeys in the jungle! I'm talking BIG. BLACK. RATS. And their yucky long hairless tails!
Long story short, the exterminator put out 12 bait traps. The first week he said the amount of bait gone would kill up to 200 rats. 200 rats people!!! He came weekly at first and now he's checking every 2-3 weeks...still replacing bait. So far we have collected 14 dead rats.
Our landscapers have cleaned up the yard nicely and the number of dead rats we've seen has slowed quite a bit.

Before and After--Girls' Club Bath
The girls' bathroom was in the same situation that the master bath was...very blah tile and the original counter tops were going to be difficult to get clean and keep clean.

Before and After--Master Bath
Carroll and I joke that we are refurbishing an 8 year old house because we are having it painted, redoing tile, replacing the carpet, and landscaping.
Everything is almost done. We're hoping the construction clean will take place this next week and we will be on our way to moving in!
So let's start with the master bath because this is one of my favorite improvements.
