My goodness! I've received another bloggy award. This bloggy love is from my buddy, The Stephanie, at Live.Laugh.Love. Thank you Stephanie! Since I have just received a similar award, I've already posted about a few of the blogs that make my day. You can see them here. And really, my entire blog roll makes my day so, Hip Mom of Boyz, Party of Five, Saving the World Before Bedtime, The Queen's Castle, and Well Behaved Krissy can pick up this award too.

Sharing The Love...A "Wow, You Rock" Meme

Krissy, from Well Behaved Women Seldom Make History, tagged me with this meme. Check her blog daily for out of this world funny stuff!
The rules are to tag bloggers who make you smile/laugh, make your day, and/or leave uplifting comments. In other words, share the love with authors of blogs you love. You then include a link to this post and ask each person you tag to do the same.
So, I'm sharing the love with:
Honorary Indian--My bloggy world started with you. Thank you for being my initial inspiration and keeping me coming back for more.
Dancing Queen--Your blog is my blog's best friend.
One Wired Woman--Jill has a song to match each post and the wittiest comments.
The Stephanie--I love her mouse in the house updates and her super cute family. She and her husband are in a worship band together...how cool is that?! Not to mention she and her girlfriend have a blog design business.
Lanny--My newest blog buddy. We have a lot in common...like our awesome blog designer, Shawn and clean car issues. It's like having a MamaMia in Michigan!
Kristen--I just dig her blog.
I'm sparing Hip Mom of Boyz, Party of Five, and The Queen's Castle this time, but I will catch up with you next time.

You Know You're Old When...
- You run into one of your former students and she calls you by your maiden name (you've been married for 9 years).
- Your former student says she is 20 years old now and you taught her when she was 6!
- Your former student's parents are divorced and her dad is on his second family...he's expecting twins with his new wife!!
- Your daughter asks you who that was and you say "I was her teacher when she was your age."

Ballet Recital 2008
I never took ballet as a child and because of that lack of experience, I am so surprised at what a BIG production these recitals are for such young children. Don't get me wrong, I think they are fantastic, but I am absolutely spent after a week of general rehearsals at the studio, a dress rehearsal and finally, the actual recital at the theatre. The dress rehearsal and recital were five to six hour days complete with hair, makeup, and downtown parking...serious stuff.
The day of the dress rehearsal was officially the hardest day ever with three children. I could not find a babysitter for the life of me. No family member was available because it was a Friday--everybody was working. So, unfortunately, I had to add Cannon to the level of difficulty. Besides all the stuff I had to carry, the logistics of getting Elle and Piper on stage at the right time and changed into their second costumes with Cannon strapped in my front carrier was the craziest. Thank God for fellow moms willing to watch my children when I needed to be in two places at one time.
The day of the recital was a much different story. I had Carroll, my mom, and Morgan (SIL) with me to help out.
Speaking of Morgan, here's a shout out to her: Thank you Aunt Morgan for coming over early to do the girls' makeup. You did a beautiful job. Sorry you got a speeding ticket on the way. Thank you for being my lovely assistant during costume changes. And thank you for the great snapshots of the girls during the show. We love you!
This was Elle's second recital and Piper's first. Elle performed to "My New Philosophy" (tap) and "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" (ballet). Elle, my perfectionist, was so perfect...absolutely beautiful.
Piper performed to "I Just Want To Be A Star" (ballet) and "New York, New York" (tap). Piper is all about having fun, and that she did. She was just so cute up on stage. She, too, did a great job. I'm a very proud mommy.
The girls had VBS this past week, right after the recital weekend. They had a blast. We have finally reached a week where there is NOTHING going on...ah...my summer is about to begin.

Good Times
OK Bloggy Friends and Family, I'm very behind so I will be playing catch up this weekend.
The family and I got out in the backyard a couple of weekends ago to enjoy a morning of playing in the sprinkler. It's hot here and we've had no rain in a looong time.
The girls were giddy about the new Backyardigans sprinkler. You are supposed to be able to step on it and make the water squirt higher. However, 5 minutes into our fun, the crazy thing popped along the seam...bummer! We pulled out the back up sprinkler and still had a great time.

Did You Ever Dislike A Pair Of Shoes So Much...

Other funny things he does...
- He fake coughs when someone sneezes.
- He likes to carry a wipe or sock in his hand.
- When he is successful walking from one spot to another, he turns around waiting for his clap or cheer.
- He's started making his "car" noises...brpbrpbrp...as he pushes a toy car around.

Career Changes
Elle has already been through several career changes. A couple of years ago she was going to be a preschool teacher when she grew up. Last year, she decided that veterinary medicine was more up her alley--with the caring of animals and all. (Never mind the fact that she is afraid of dogs.) But just recently, she has changed her mind again. She informed me that she was going to be a watermelon juice maker. In her words..."I'll get watermelon pieces and squeeze them so the juice comes out. I'll sell it to the grocery store. It will be by the beer. I'll have a stand and it will be free. And I'll see you Mommy." [So many things to note, but two obvious ones...yes, Daddy likes his beer. And yes, I'm always at the grocery store!]
Below are some pictures of Elle modeling the various careers she's thought about.
No telling what's next...today she and Piper were pretending they were detectives with their magnifying glasses.
