Check out this Easter weather! Okay, so this wasn't our weather, but it was Dad and V's weather up at the cabin in Pinetop, Arizona!! Our Easter morning was rainy, but we gladly took it because we're desperate for rain in these parts. We left a note for the Easter Bunny asking him to hide our eggs in the house.
Egg hunting in the house probably worked out better for us too because Elle was diagnosed with a lung infection the day before Easter. You heard that right...a LUNG infection!! Elle had a very phlegmy cough at the end of the week and in the wee hours of Saturday morning, she had a fever of 105! Needless to say, we spent the better part of Saturday morning in the doctor's office getting her finger pricked, counting white blood cells fighting bacteria, followed by an antibiotic shot, and then venturing out for a chest x-ray. Poor baby was so puny by the time we got home.
And to top the evening off, Piper was running a fever and complaining of her throat hurting. I could sense a relapse of the strep throat she had a month earlier. She hung in there until Monday morning when we could see her regular pediatrician. Strep throat was confirmed.
All that to justify why I don't have pictures of our Easter basket goodies or egg hunting Easter morning or the kids in their Easter attire, which they never got to wear. Oh well. I do, however, have some pictures of a couple of activities prior to our sick spells.
First, Piper's hat parade at school. Since she goes to school five days a week, she gets to participate twice. The first day, she chose her cowgirl hat. The second day, she chose her princess hat and then had second thoughts about that choice when it came time to parade. Luckily, her teacher had backups available. Piper chose to be a flower instead.

Our church had an Eggs-travaganza the weekend before Easter. We enjoyed breakfast, a small petting zoo, riding a pony, an egg hunt, and many more fun activities. Here are a few snapshots...

The egg hunt made me laugh because the kids' personalities came through in the way they hunted. Elle's objective was to collect as many as she could and fast. Cannon opened every egg immediately to see what was inside. He only collected about five. Piper was right in the middle--she wasn't concerned about moving fast or having the most. Her pace was steady and she had no objective.
As we wind up April and approach May, we are extremely busy with float parades (Viva Fiesta!), field day, the school carnival and numerous end of school year activities. Mama is ready for summer! ;)
On a random note, I can't get enough of Adam Lambert on American Idol so that's what's on my playlist.
